Heat Draw

Please be aware that there is an extra minute added to the Live Heats website, so please go by the heat schedule on the Snowy website above.

RULES

Surfers must check in at the competitors tent 20 minutes prior to their heat.

Heats are 20 minutes long. All boards are to be no less than 9 foot. All open divisions can use either single fin or thruster set up longboards.

A single hooter marks the end of the heat in progress, it will follow with two hooters about a minute apart the second hooter will start the following heat. Once that hooter goes the surfer in the previous heat cannot stand up and ride a/wave in.

A colour board system will also be used to represent each stage of the each heat:
Green – heat is in progress
Yellow – there is five minutes remaining of the heat, surfers in the next heat may paddle out
Red – heat has completed

The Old Mal division will require boards that are pre 1968 surf craft, over 9 foot in length and single fin configuration only.

Logs are to be over 9 foot in length measured from nose to tail on the deck of the surfboard and a minimum weight of 8kg.
They must have a single central fin that may be permanently fixed or via a fin box. There must be no provision for any other fin configuration. The rails must be 50/50 or 60/40 from nose to tail and the board must have no resin edge on tail.

Noserider Division is a timed nose riding elimination event. All competitors will have a tape marked positioned on their boards nose. The surfer who can spend the most time within this taped area will take the title.
